Graypen Achieves AEO status

7th January 2009

We are pleased to make a New Year announcement that GRAYPEN has been awarded AEO status by HM Revenue & Customs. We are one of only a handful of UK companies to have achieved this elite status.

The AEO scheme is one of a series of measures being coordinated by the World Customs Organisation as part of a multi-layered approach to facilitating trade and making supply chains more secure and controlled.

Through adoption of the AEO regime, the EU bloc is now aligning with similar measures introduced by other countries, including the USA. The scheme provides legitimate businesses with a 'quality mark' which demonstrates that their internal controls and procedures are efficient and comply with agreed global requirements.

Phillip Sage, UK Customs Clearance Services Manager for GRAYPEN said: "the benefits of GRAYPEN being AEO accredited means that our entries experience fewer physical and documentary examinations of the cargo, as well as entitling us to priority use of non-intrusive inspection techniques when examination is required. In addition, we receive priority processing by Customs when security is at heightened levels as we now have 'Preferred Trader' eligibility.
